As a Marriage & Family Therapist I feel like I have my dream job and am thankful for the opportunity to work with my clients. I have worked with many families impacted by autism as a behavior therapist and have been moved by how much this diagnosis affects the family system. I also have a personal passion for helping families cope with having a child diagnosed with chronic illness, having a son diagnosed at a young age with Type 1 Diabetes. My desire to connect with and help families living with any such diagnoses catapulted me into the field of family therapy. I have also received nine months of training and supervision while offering therapy to individuals and couples dealing with addictions to gain a better understanding of the far reaching effects substance use can have on families. My journey of becoming a therapist has been interesting and filled with introspection and growth. Life has not always been easy for me and I have survived through many hard times over the years. I believe that my own personal experiences have helped me to be able to better connect with others who might be in distress. In addition to being a Marriage & Family Therapist, I am married and a mother to two teenagers and one silly dog.
